Doctrinal Statement
What We Believe and Teach
Our supreme desire is to know Christ and to be conformed into His image by the power of the Holy Spirit. We are a Christian church. We believe that God is in charge and His Word is our instruction book for living and dying.
We Believe the Bible is God’s Word to us. It was written by human authors, under the supernatural guidance of the Holy Spirit. It is the supreme source of truth for Christian beliefs and living. Because it is inspired by God, it is the truth without any mixture of error. (II Tim. 3:16, II Peter 1:19-21, I Thess. 2:13)
We Believe that God is the Creator of all things seen and unseen, Ruler of the universe…that there is one God, all powerful, all knowing, all present, eternally existent in three persons; God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit.
We Believe in the deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (John 10:33), His virgin birth (Isa. 7:14, Matt. 1:23, Luke 1:35); His sinless life (Heb. 4:15, 7:26) His miracles (John 2:11, Acts 10:38); His atoning death (I Cor. 15:3, Eph. 1:7, Heb. 2:9); His resurrection (John 11:25, I Cor. 15:4); His ascension to the right hand of the Father, (Mark 16:19); His personal, visible and future return to earth to receive to Himself His blood bought church. (Acts 1:11, Rev. 19:11)
We Believe that the Holy spirit is the divine personality sent to minister in the Name of Jesus, as the continuing presence of Christ in the world; that He is Comforter, Guide, Sustainer and Protector of the Church, (John 14:15-21), that the Holy Spirit resides in every believer and gives power to live a holy and sanctified life as we effectively serve Christ, (Rom. 8:1-5, I Cor. 3:16, Gal. 5:22-26).
We Believe in the absolute necessity of regeneration by the Holy Spirit for salvation because of the exceeding sinfulness of human nature; and that all are justified on the single ground of faith in the shed blood of Christ and that only by God’s grace, through faith alone, are we saved (John 3:16-19, 5:24, Romans 3:23; 5:8-9, Eph. 2:8-10, Titus 3:5).
We Believe that the redemptive work of Christ on the cross provides healing for the human body and is wrought by the power of God through the prayer of faith. (James 5:14-20, I Peter 2:24, Mark 16:18).
We Believe in the resurrection of both the saved and unsaved; they that are saved unto the resurrection of life with God for all eternity, and they that are unsaved to the resurrection of damnation and eternal separation from God (John 5:28-29)
WE Believe in the spiritual unity of the believers in our Lord Jesus Christ (Rom. 8:9, I Cor. 12:12-13, Gal. 3:26-28).
We Believe that the Church is the body of Christ and is comprised of those who have received and trust Jesus Christ as their personal Lord and Savior. (Rom. 12:4-5, Eph. 5:29-30)
We Believe in water baptism as a sign of obedience and regeneration and the observance of the Lord’s Supper as a sign of a continuing remembrance of the suffering and sacrifice of the Lord Jesus Christ. (Matt. 28:13, I Cor. 11:23-26)
